Review – Bike Tour through the Dunes

On Saturday 11th of October 17 sportive UEN members and 8 children met up at Madurodam in The Hague to spend the day cycling through the beautiful dunes of South Holland. We cycled to the Watertor and entered the Dunes there direction Wassenaar.
Cycling and chatting we managed the first 8 km through beautiful Meijendel without even noticing how steep it sometimes was.
We stopped for coffee, juices and some snacks at a beautifully situated cafe right in the dunes, Scottish Highlanders were grazing not far away.
After the break we said Good-Bye to two families with children, they preferred to cycle back home and the rest of us continued to Katwijk. We arrived at the beach and decided to have lunch when it started to rain. One and a half hours later we were all happy and warm, we decided it is time to  head back and we were greeted by the sun :-). We all agreed that the weather couldn’t have been any better.
We cycled back, took a little climb to the most perfect view on top of the dunes and continued afterwards back  to Madurodam to end the tour there.
It was a perfect day with a group of very nice people and new friendships were made!
