The Hague Beach Marathon, also known as the Black Marathon, will be held on Sunday, 14 July. The course will start from the TNO building and takes runners on the beach through Scheveningen, Wassenaar and Katwijk to Noordwijk and back.
The summer edition commences at 16.30 hrs. from the TNO building on the Oude Waalsdorperweg. There are also various distances for walkers: 5, 10, 21, 30 and 42 km.
Refreshments for the runners are available local establishments in every beach town: in Scheveningen at Culpepper, in Wassenaar at De Golfslag, in Katwijk at 4 Seasons and in Noordwijk at Alexander Beach and Alexander Hotel.
Thanks to the generous financial support from sponsors, a large part of the entry fee will go towards charity. This year’s charity is De Schakel house in Loosduinen, assisted living for children between the ages of 6 and 20 with physical and multiple disabilities. The proceeds will go towards organising trips and other extra leisure activities for the children.
The registration fee is € 47.50 for the full marathon, and € 27.50 per person for a relay team. The registration fees for the walking event range from € 3 to 10 depending on the distance.
