From 7 to 18 June Festival Classique presents classical music on a grand scale in The Hague’s seaside resort of Scheveningen. The performances are all unique in their combination of theatre, dance and classical music and will bring to life the rich musical past of this historic location.
Festival Classique 2018
Festival Classique is a 10-day classical music festival which combines various art forms such as dance, theatre, visual art and film. festival attempts to lower the cultural threshold by taking a more contemporary approach, without lowering the high quality standards of classical music.
This summer Festival Classique will present more than 100 performances and concerts in the Kurhaus, on the Pier and the boulevard and this year for the first time also at the harbour and in Holland Casino Scheveningen.
Ferris wheel concerts
Festival Classique has programmed an unprecedented number of new performances for this festival edition, which will take place in the vibrant heart of Scheveningen. Diverse cultural forces will team up on stage, influencing and enriching each other. Performing artists will include the Residentie Orkest in cooperation with the fashion designer Michael Barnaart van Bergen, De Nederlandse Reisopera, double bassist Dominic Seldis and singer-songwriter Karsu.
This year a new festival feature will be the Ferris wheel concerts: an exclusive and extraordinary experience providing a superb panoramic view.
Naturally there will again be numerous free performances on the boulevard and the Gevers Deynootplein during the Fringe Festival.
Festival Classique takes place this year from 7 to 18 June at various locations in Scheveningen including the Kurhaus, the Pier and the boulevard.
