This winter, the artist Oscar Peters is showing a vibrant world in the Electriciteitsfabriek in which popular entertainment and macabre spectacles are celebrated. Peters shows 2 large kinetic installations in the more than 4000 m2 industrial factory. During the exhibition, the artist continues working in a temporary workplace where he creates new works of art that are integrated into the installations.
Nest and the Electriciteitsfabriek work together on large-scale solo presentations by kinetic artists.

Want to see your artwork on the 130 m long rollercoaster ‘The Savage’? Apply with a proposal and send it at email@example.com stating ‘Open Call’ or bring a (sketch of your) work to the factory to discuss it with Oscar Peters.
A few practical details: the art work should have maximum weight of 10 kilo and needs to fit within an imaginable cube of 50x50x70 cm. Come and join the opening of VOLTA to experience the first works of art on the rollercoaster.
Amsterdam RAI hosts the Homemakers’ Fair every February. With hundreds of exhibitors lining up to show off the latest products on the market, this annual event is a household, shopping and life style feast!
Having sprung into life in 1950 as an opportunity to sell various homewares to Dutch house wives, the modern-day version of the Homemakers’ Fair has thankfully diversified beyond vacuum cleaners and kitchen aids. These days, fashion, beauty, food and drink and entertainment all play leading roles at this huge event.
Krokus Kabaal children’s theatre festival
Children in The Hague can enjoy the Krokus Kabaal theatre and art festival during their Spring break from Saturday, 22 to Friday, 28 of February. Upbeat, accessible, interactive, diverse and cool performances, films and activities for children of all backgrounds.
Children 12 years and younger can attend performances and take part in all kinds of activities such as music, dance, felt making, film and games at 10 different locations.
Each location will offer something fun to do with a lunch, songs, a concert, dancing and plenty of surprise performances.
The Krokus Kabaal festival takes place from Saturday, 22 to Friday 28 of February at the following locations: Laaktheater, Theater De Vaillant, Theater De Nieuwe Regentes, Diamant Theater, Theater Dakota, Leidschenveen/Ypenburg library and Muzee Scheveningen.
All performances, films and activities cost € 3.00 unless stated otherwise. The programme in the libraries is free.

Fiets en Wandelbeurs’ the event for cyclists and walkers, Utrecht 2020
This event claims to be “the best event for cyclists and walkers” delivering information on:
– super destinations for the sports,
– agencies with walking and cycling trips/holidays,
– information stations for seasoned walkers and cyclists,
– compelling stories from sporting professionals,
– a variety of bikes such as e-bikes, mountainbikes, and trekking bikes,
– stands selling outdoor clothing and equipment,
– three cycle courses for visitors to test out,
– a kids adventure track, and
– free entry to the ‘e-bike Xperience’.

The European Fine Art Fair is one of the world’s most prestigious art and antique fairs. It is certainly the largest and has the strictest system for ensuring the objects on offer are of the highest quality. Roze Filmdagen (meaning ‘Pink Film Days’) is the largest film festival for LGBTQ films in the Netherlands.

Moving Futures is an initiative of five national production companies that bring together remarkable work by talented choreographers in one travelling festival for contemporary dance.
The Amsterdam Wine Festival takes place at the Westergasfabriek twice a year. During the harvest festivals in March, where the southern hemisphere stands central and during the harvest festivals in September we celebrate the harvests of the northern hemisphere. During those periodes the wine farmers celebrate that the grapes have been safely collected and the wine making process can begin. We celebrate that with them!

The festive opening of the national beach season with the fourth Bonfire Beach Fest takes place on April 17 and 18 in the evening on The Hague beach. An atmospheric happening with theater, acrobatics and music. Therefore, for a spectacular start to your summer, travel to The Hague, our City by the Sea.
The fourth edition of Bonfire Beach Fest – a mix of music, culture and hospitality – only takes place in the evenings and is even more surprising than in recent years. The previous festival already attracted 75,000 visitors, the number is expected to be well exceeded in 2020. The program on 17 and 18 April looks very promising with parties and performances by bands and DJs in the beach tents and twice a night a big, colorful theater spectacle on the beach at Noordboulevard (between the Pier and the Zwarte Pad) with light show, acrobatics and music.
On June 5-7 the largest steam power event in Europe will be held for the 19th time in Dordrecht, which is just south of Rotterdam.
Organisers expect 250,000 visitors at this celebration of stream. Admission to ‘Dordt in Steam’ is free, however, a day-ticket (‘Stoomrondje Dordt’) can be purchased for round trips on historic stream transport.
On Friday evening, Dordt in Steam will open with an impressive naval parade on the river.
Dordt in Steam is spread across two areas in the city which are linked with (steam)ships, steam trains and old-timer buses.
By purchasing a day-ticket for the ‘Stoomrondje Dordt’, the visitor will have access to the various forms of historic transport at the event. It also includes admission to the Model Building Show. The day-ticket is available at all departure points. Be aware that a round trip lasts at least three hours!
In the picturesque harbour area next to the Groothoofd, Kuipershaven, Wolwevershaven and the Merwekade, dozens of steam-powered ships, machines and vehicles will be on view.
Steamboats will be make round trips on the river. For children, miniature steam trains will also be operating. Various (steam)ships will also be open for visitors.
International participants will display model trains, miniature steam powered machinery and model ships in a large model building show. You can travel by steamtrain or steamboat to visit this great Model Builing Show.
Sidewalk cafes and live music will add to steamy atmosphere.
At the 72ndh CHIO Rotterdam the very best international riders and horses in the world will compete in the FEI Nations Cup Jumping and Dressage classes and the Longines Grand Prix Port of Rotterdam. From June 21 until June 25 in the beautiful Kralingse Bos many chef d’equipes select the teams that will represent their countries at European Championships in August 2018. With a long history going back to 1948, CHIO Rotterdam is the eldest international sport event in Rotterdam and the only 5* equestrian event in the Netherlands. The FEI selected CHIO Rotterdam as the organiser for the FEI European Championships Jumping, Dressage and Para -Dressage 2019.
Besides exciting equestrian sport, the CHIO Rotterdam presents four days of networking, fun for kids, shows, the Stroodorp and excellent hospitality. There is something for everybody!
