[vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text] “Global Connection” brought an article about our member Irena Tullis in the December Issue of their Expat Magazine. Global Connection (with Irena’s approval) were so kind to allow us to publish a copy of the article which shows the excellent career service they provide. However, I thought it would be also be nice to ask Irena the usual “faces of the UEN” questions…so please read on.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][heading][/heading][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/4″][vc_column_text]Name:  Irena Tullis

Age:  44

Current job:  stay at home mum / a spouse of Unilever employee

How long have you been in Holland/ a member of the UEN?

Nearly 2 years. Arrived in July 2013

What do you like best about working and living in the Netherlands?

I like living by the beach. I grew up in The Czech Republic, which doesn’t have any coastline. Living near the sea is a real treat. Netherlands is an easy country to live in.  It has a large international community. It was easy to make friends and follow my hobbies.  Compared to other countries, Netherlands has many indoor and outdoor activities for families with kids. There is always something on during the weekends. We can never get bored.

Is there anything you absolutely do not like?

Herring fish.

What do you miss from your home country?

It’s been a long time since I left The Czech Republic (1998). I miss hills and variety of the countryside.  Luckily, the beautiful open skies compensate for the lack of hills.

What’s the biggest difference between Holland and your own country?

Except for the landscape, there is not much difference. People are friendly in both countries. Also beer is the most popular alcohol drink in both countries. But of course, the Czech beer is better![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”3/4″][image_with_animation image_url=”33171″ animation=”Fade In” img_link_target=”_self”][image_with_animation animation=”Fade In” img_link_target=”_self” image_url=”33177″][/vc_column][/vc_row]
